Dan Rausch autoed to Marshfield with the O.W. Becker family Sunday.

 

Mrs. R.C. Norman arrived from Milwaukee last Thursday for a visit with relatives.

 

Miss Beatrice Brooks who spent the last year at Rockham, S.D. arrived home last Friday for a visit with her parents.

 

Miss Susie Sternitzky of Marshfield came over Saturday and spent Sunday with her sister, Mrs. Jake Breseman.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ure went to their farm near Chili and spent Saturday and Sunday there.

 

Max Opelt and father autoed to Marshfield one day last week.

 

Miss Addie Breseman was given a surprise party in honor of her 16th birthday.

 

C. hecker of Appleton spent several days with O.W. Becker and family.

 

R.T. Washburn autoed to Marshfield Sunday and spent the day with relatives and friends.

 

Miss Laura Neitzel arrived home from Milwaukee late last week and will spend the summer at home.

 

Those from Neillsville who attended the dance were Miss Vivian Ure and Frank Lockbrum and many others whose names we did not learn.

 

Miss Beatrice Howard closed a very successful term of school in the Geo. Brooks District and gave her scholars a picnic last Saturday afternoon.

 

Mr. Howard of Greenwood came down last Saturday and Miss Howard accompanied her father home on Sunday.

 

Max Opelt attended the ball game at Neillsville Sunday.

 

Arthur Opelt came very near having a very serious accident Sunday while driving east of here.  One of his horses got a sone in his hoof and Arthur got out to remove the stone and was between the horses when suddenly an auto appeared which frightened them and the only way Arthur could save himself from destruction was his presence of mind.  He jumped on the tongue and hung on to the horses necks and they ran out into a field at a terrific speed.  He managed to stop them before they reached a very great distance.  The man in the auto never stopped to see how bad the accident was.
