St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal was the setting Monday morning, Sept. 2, at 10 o’clock of the wedding of Miss Carol Ann Slawatyniec, daughter of Mrs. Mary Slawatyniec of Thorp, to Patrick Rueth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rueth of Loyal. The Rev. Norbert King officiated.

The bride’s floor-length gown was of nylon net and embroidered lace and the bodice featured long sleeves. Her finger-tip veil of nylon tulle was secured to a cap encrusted with sequins and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses.

Net over taffeta styled the gowns of the bridal attendants, Mrs. Herbert Rueth,Loyal, the groom’s sister-in-law as matron of honor wore aqua; the bridesmaids, Mrs. LaVern Kolbeck, Stratford, sister of the groom, wore yellow, and Mrs. Alvin Benszchawel, Thorp, wore orchid. Their carnation headpieces matched their gowns in color, as did their bouquets of carnations and snapdragons. Kathy Rueth, Loyal, cousin og the groom, wearing a gown of pink net over taffeta, was flower girl and Shelia Rueth, Loyal, niece of the groom, wearing a gown like the bride’s, was miniature bride. the ring-bearer was Robert Rueth, Loyal, a nephew of the groom.

Attends of the groom were his brother, Herbert Rueth, Loyal, who was best man, and LaVern Kolbeck, Stratford, the groom’s brother-in-law, and Alvin Benszchawel, thorp, who were groomsmen.

Bernard Rueth, Wisconsin Rapids, broth of the groom, and Andrew Novabielski, Greenwood, uncle of the bride, were ushers.

Music was furnished by St. Anthony’s Choir. Dinner was served in St. Anthony’s dining hall and supper and a reception were given at he home of the groom.

The bride’s mother wore an aqua dress and the groom’s mother chose black with white accessories.

Following a honeymoon in Northern Wisconsin, the couple are residing on a farm near Loyal.
