Vogel, Joseph (1 October 1889 - 18 October 1963)
Funeral services were held from the Myre Funeral Home Monday afternoon for Joseph Vogel, 74, who died October 18, at the Clark County Hospital at Owen. The Rev. Paul Doering, pastor of the Loyal Methodist Church, was in charge. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.
Mr. Vogel was born October 1, 1889, in Hewitt. He came to Loyal with his parents as a young man, and worked as a carpenter in the area until 1943, when he moved to Milwaukee and became employed by the Miller Brewing Company. He retired in 1956 and returned to Loyal to make his home.
Mr. Vogel was married in 1915 to Nellie May Sischo in the Methodist Church in Spencer.
Surviving are his wife; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ione Sommers of Loyal; two brothers, Matt Vogel of Loyal and Louis Vogel of Greenwood; and three sisters, Mrs. Kate Pope of Loyal, Mrs. William (Maggie) Welsh and Mrs. Harry (Carrie) Robinson, both of Billings, Mont.
Pallbearers were Ted Welsh, Everett Helms, Julius Ehlert, Frank Schwanke, Henry Boe and Archie Smith.
Mrs. Paul Doering same "Be Still My Soul" and "Nearer My God" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Harold Collinson.
