R.K. Dye of Fond du Lac was in this vicinity tuning pianos this week.

 

Mrs. J. Temelling visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. Altenburg Monday, and Miss Nellie Altenburg returned with them for a several days visit.

 

Wedding bells will soon be ringing in this vicinity.

 

Fred Grassman is visiting relatives in Tunnel City and other places.

 

A large number of girls in this vicinity sprung a surprise on Miss Laura Steinbach when they invited Laura to her cousin’s, Miss Lydia Pusheck, under the pretense of the sewing club and gave her a shower never to be forgotten.  She received many useful articles.

 

John Altenburg and son transacted business at Chili on Friday.

 

Robert Nankevil visited the John Altenburg family on Friday.

 

Otto Becker transacted business at Marshfield Saturday.

 

Rev. Wolf of York Center called on old friends here the latter part of last week.

 

Mrs. Jake Breseman and children spent Friday with the Emil Lindow family in East Lynn.

 

Mrs. P. Schermacher of Lindsey spent Tuesday with Mrs. R.T. Washburn.

 

Mrs. Fred hankey has been quite sick and under the doctor’s care for the last week.

 

Ed Riedel and family will soon take possession of the Stubbs farm which Ed has rented for one year.

 

Mrs. Kleinschmidt and daughter of East Lynn spent Sunday with the P. Jensen family.

 

Wm. Simpson, who left here about three months ago for Indiana, has returned here and will take his old job as section foreman.

 

Mrs. R.C. Norman went to Neillsville last week Wednesday.

 

Irving Brooks and son Clark were Marshfield callers Saturday.

 

Mrs. E. Montag was on the sick list for the past week.

 

Mrs. Herman Montag of Chili visited her mother-in-law, Mrs. Lizzie Montage, the latter part of last week.

 

Mrs. Jane Brooks, other of Geo. R. Brooks of this place and Charles Brooks of Granton, died at Neillsville last Friday after an illness of a little over a week.  The funeral services were held in Neillsville Sunday and the remains were brought here and placed by the side of her husband in the Lynn Cemetery.  Mrs. Brooks was an old resident of this place and leaves many friends and relatives to mourn her loss.
