Jarchow, Dorothy G. (31 MAR 1920 - 9 DEC 2011)

 

Dorothy G. Jarchow, 91, was born into eternal life Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. 

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at Saint John's Lutheran Church, Withee. The Rev. Tom Myhre will officiate. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church. 

Dorothy was born March 31, 1920, in the town of Greenwood, Taylor County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Louis and Selma (Scheithauer) Mohr. She attended school until the eighth grade in the town of Greenwood. 

After her schooling, Dorothy traveled with her parents helping them cook for the logging camps. 

The former Dorothy Mohr was united in marriage to Melvin Jarchow on Nov. 9, 1940, at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, town of Greenwood, Taylor County, Wisconsin.

Dorothy worked for Master Package in Owen for 45 years retiring in 1988.

Her family was the focus of her life and she cherished the time she could spend with them. 

She was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church, Withee. 

Dorothy is lovingly survived by her daughters, Patricia (Dave) Blazer of Owen, Sharon Kurhais of Wheeling, Ill.; grandchildren, Kelly (Bill Murks) Kurhais of Owen, Todd Kurhais of International Falls, Minn., Joel (Renee) Blazer of Shell Lake, and Paul Blazer of Owen; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Braydon Kurhais and Kayla and Keagan Blazer; and a brother, Ervin Mohr of Owen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lana, in infancy; sisters, Alvina "Suzy" Stolp, Betty Renke and Mildred Brandner; and her brothers, Edward, Edwin, Fred Sr., and Harold Mohr.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Owen is assisting the family with arrangements.
