Madsen, Mats (? - 15 October 1963)

 

Funeral services were held October 23, from the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee for Mats Madsen, 68, of Neillsville, who died October 15, in Sawyer County while on a hunting trip. The Rev. Beryl Knudsen officiated.  Burial was made in the Nazareth Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: Thorwald Carlesen, Emil A. Hansen, Pete Madsen, Sig Sorensen, E. H. Hansen and Richard Rabska.  Flowers were carried by Mrs. E. H. Hansen, Mrs. Pete Madsen, Mrs. Thorwald Carlesen, Mrs., V. A. Hansen and Mrs. H. Bakke.

 

"Children of the Heavenly Father" and "Nearer My God to Thee" were sung by Mrs. Beryl Knudsen, accompanied by Louise Hansen.

 

People from away attending the funeral were: Al C. Carlson and Rev. Clemens, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kallas of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. John Koehler and family of Milwaukee; Emil Nielsen of Hancock; Edward Kallas of Beloit; and Mr. and Mrs. Inar Anderson of Mauston.
