Albert, Jean (Marriage - 26 October 1963)
Nuptial vows were exchanged October 26 in a double ring ceremony in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, uniting in marriage Miss Jean Albert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton O. Albert of Withee, and James M. Lukas, son of Mr. and Mrs. peter Lukas of Thorp. Bouquets of white chrysanthemums with red oak leaves adorned the altar as the Rev. Fr. H. L. Grubel performed the nuptial high mass.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose for her wedding a floor-length gown of angel skin peau, styled with a bell skirt which was full-pleated, and the back of which curved into a chapel train revealing Alencon lace medallions. The fitted bodice featured a bateau neckline and redingote affect, created by softly rounded scallops. They were caught with small buttons that cascaded from neckline to hemline. A crown of pearls with petal sprays held her three tiered bouffant veil of imported silk illusion. She carried a prayer book mounted with white jappettes and stephanotis. A rosary was entwined around the jappettes.
Attending the bride was Miss Pat Verkuilen of Wausau as maid-of-honor; Miss Bernie Schoemfelder of Milwaukee and Miss Pat Lukas of Thorp as bridesmaids. They wore street length gowns of Royal blue taffeta with floor length overskirts, styled with inverted pleats attached to wide cummerbunds with two small bows in the back. They wore matching flower headpieces with bouffant veiling cascading down the back and carried bouquets of white Fuji chrysanthemums.
Russ Lee of Amery was best man. Groomsmen were Merlin Nevala of Mosinee and Niles Munson of Sheboygan. Ushers were Bob Lukas of Thorp and James Albert of Withee.
The new Mrs. Lukas is a graduate of Wisconsin State College in River Falls, and is a medical technologist. Mr. Lukas, also a graduate of River Falls, is an A. S. C. office manager trainee in Neillsville. He is affiliated with the Phi Nu (balance cut off my copy).
