At an 11:00 o’clock Mass at St. Philomena Church in Chicago, Ill. Mary Ann Bartley became the bride of Theodore P. (Ted) Devine. The wedding took place on Saturday, Dec. 17, 1960, with Father Sieger conducting the Mass and ceremony.
Mary Ann Bartley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bartley of Chicago, and Ted is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Devine, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).
The bride was attired in a floor length wedding gown of lace and taffeta. The bodice was of lace, coming to a point in the front with a scalloped neckline. The long sleeves came to a point at the wrist. The skirt was full with a water crest figure in the taffeta. She wore a crown of seed pearls and crystal drops with a fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of red poinsettias with white stephanotis.
Miss Joann Bartley of Chicago, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor, and Eleanor Schmid of Villa Park, Ill. was the bridesmaid. They wore moss green floor length sheaths with sheer Peau Desaie overskirts and carried pink poinsettias with silver ornaments and ribbon. Miss Patty Bartley, the bride’s sister, was the flower girl, dressed in a pink organdy with pink taffeta cummerbund.
The groom attired in a midnight blue tuxedo was attended by his brother, Tom Devine of Withee, as best man, with David Devine, another brother, as attendant. They wore tuxedos in midnight blue also.
The bride is a third grade teacher in the Menomonie school system. She graduated from high school at Three Lakes and Wis. State College at Eau Claire. The groom teaches Social Science and is assistant football coach at Menomonie and is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, and attended Wis. State College at Eau Claire. They will make their home at 409 ½ Wilson Ave. in Menomonie.
Guests attending the wedding came from Withee, Eau Claire, Chicago, Owen and Crystal Lake, Ill.
