Mrs. Homer King will entertain the Circle June 26th.
John Bladl is making extensive improvements about his place of business.
Mrs. Ed Soles spent Wednesday with her husband at the Marshfield hospital. It is expected that he must remain yet two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Porath and daughter Norma returned home on Wednesday from their visit at Beloit and other state points.
Rose Kemmeter suffered a painful injury last Friday through falling out of a buggy when riding with Gertrude Davis and having the pony take fright at a road grader and ditch them. She is about okay again through now.
G.K. Peterson, the new proprietor of the Granton Creamery went to Dorchester last week and returned Saturday, accompanied by his wife and children since which time they have begun housekeeping in the new home here.
Mrs. C. Eisentraut, Mrs. Hantke Sr., Mrs. Fred Raine, Miss Clara Drescher and Miss Minnie Wilke of Neillsville, with Mrs. and Mrs. John Miller of Batavia, the latter a half sister of the late Bernard Jahr were here Tuesday in attendance at the funeral.
Miss Jennie Hart of Humbird and Miss Mabel Trumbauer of Dunkerton, Ia. canvassed the town with aluminum ware this week and visited at the George Hart Home.
Miss Pearl Beeckler entertained the O.E.S. Birthday club and a few friends Wednesday when her guests took the opportunity to surprise her sister Miss Vera Beeckler with a miscellaneous shower of articles quite appropriate in lieu of her approaching marriage. A very enjoyable afternoon was passed by all fortunate enough to have been present.
Kit Carson’s Buffalo Ranch 3-ring circus will exhibit at Neillsville next Thursday, June 26th. It is a Wild West show and is making a specialty in wild trained animals.
This section of the country was visited by an electric storm Sunday afternoon which was accompanied by heavy rain and hail. Some of the hail stones were of considerable size and broken windows were the result in many places.
Mr. A.B. Marsh and S.M. Marsh and families, and brother Vet from Humbird, autoed to Marshfield Sunday, taking with them their sister, Mrs. J. Wright from Granton, for a family reunion at the home of J.C. Marsh. (Republican & Press)
Children’s Day will be observed in the Pine Valley Lutheran Church next Sunday, June 22 with a picnic at Beyer’s grove. There will be no services here in Rev. Reiff’s congregation here no at York and York Center on that day.
