Trindal, Orin W. #2 (26 APR 1893 - 4 FEB 1961)
Orin W. Trindal, 67, prominent central Wisconsin businessman, former village president and more recently mayor of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died in the Marshfield hospital Saturday of a heart ailment. He had been a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital since Dec. 26.
He was founder and president of the O.W. Trindal Company, milling and feed firm her, with branches in Granton, Spencer and Riplinger. He also was president of the Citizens State Bank, a past director of the Wis. Feed Dealers’ Association, and was active in Masonic and Boy Scout work.
The Rev. Paul Doering, Loyal, conducted funeral services at the Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery. Masonic rites will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Myre Funeral Home.
Mr. Trindal was born in Eau Claire April 26, 1893, and educated in Chippewa Falls. He married the former Hazel Wolfe there Nov. 11, 1913, and prior to coming here managed a farm elevator at Chippewa Falls.
He came here in 1923 and founded his wholesale and retail feed and farm supply firm. Mr. Trindal was a charter member of the Blue Lodge 335 of the Masons here, the Commandry and chapter of Neillsville, the Eau Claire Consistory, and the Zor Shrine of Madison.
He was also a charter member and once president of the Rotary Club, a finance committee member of the Methodist Church, director of the Neillsville Memorial Hospital, and of the Chippewa Valley Boy Scout Council, which had awarded him its highest award, the Silver beaver. He also served as director of the Northern Wisconsin District Fair Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Rice, Marshfield, Mrs. Rod McSwain, Green Bay; one son, William, Loyal; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lee, Minneapolis, Minn., George, Eau Claire, Glen, Chapel Hill, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Waldo shaver, New Brunswick, N.J., and his mother, Mrs. William Trindal, Eau Claire.
