Kauffman, Harry F. (13 December 1880 - 14 November 1963)
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Harry F. Kauffman, 82, of Neillsville, who died there November 14. The Rev. Ralph Didier of the First Presbyterian Church in Michigan City, Ind., officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr. Kauffman was born December 13, 1880, in Bloomington, Ill., the son of the late Michael H. and Ella (Burg) Kauffman. He received his education in Illinois schools and spent the most of his lifetime farming. On June 9, 1909, he was married to the former Emma Jeffret in Clinton, Ill. They came to Clark County in 1920 and located on a farm in the Town of Fremont. The farm is now operated by his son, Everett. After retiring in 1945 the Kauffmans moved to Neillsville.
He was a member of the Christian Church of Stanford, Ill., and served as a director of the Heathville School for 11 years.
Mr. Kauffman is survived by his wife, a son, Everett of Chili; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Leone) Didier of Michigan City, Ind.; a brother, the Rev. Howard Kauffman of Martinsville, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Paul Jacob, Homer Webster, Harold Schlinsog, Henry Knoll, George Drake and Julius Rennek. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages" were sung by Wilfred Galstad, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
People from out of town attending the funeral were: Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Didier and family of Michigan City, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kauffman and family, M. A. Dankemyer, Mr. and Mrs. William Happe, and Miss Alma Happe, all of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Rennek, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schlinsog, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knoll, Mrs. Harry Cole, Mrs. Freida Viergutz, Mrs. Alfred Garbisch, Mrs. Louise Schlinsog, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmidtke, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Elmhorst, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Schlinsog, and Scott, Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidtke, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elmhorst, all of the Granton area.

Harry Forest Kauffman
Harry Forest Kauliman was born on December 13, 1880, at Bloomington, Illinois, (McLean County). Son of Michael Henry and Ella (Berg) Kauffman. The parents were both born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and moved to a farm in Stanford, Illinois. There were three sons born to this union, Harry, William, and Howard.
In Mile 9, 1909, Harry married Emma Jane Jeffery, a school teacher of Wa nesville, Ill. They made their home on a farm in Stanford, ill., for five years. In March, 1914, they moved to Rolfe, Iowa (Pocahontas County), where a son Everett Allan was born on July 25, 1918. In March, 1920, they moved to the Granton area to farm purchased from Walter Minette. Here a daughter Leone Frances was born on December 24, 1926.
On Feb. 24, 1945, Everett married Frances Mary Suchyna of East Chicago, Indiana.. They have three children Michael, Jean, and Kathleen, On Sept. 2, 1950, Leone married Rev. Ralph H. Didier of Lansing, Michigan? They have three children, Roxanne, Renee, and Andre.
Harry and Emma lived on the farm 25 years, and in 1945, they moved to Neillsville and Everett operated the farm. On February, 1952, Harry suffered a stroke and was in a wheel chair, until his death on Nov. 14, 1963. During the years of his disability, he taught himself to paint in oils, with his left hand, and painted many pictures. Despite his disability, Harry lived a full life, and while on the farm was an ardent hunter and fisherman.
