Tolaney, Sp. 4 Joseph A. (Military Notes - 1963)

 

Sp. 4 Joseph A. Tolaney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolaney of Willard, provided support in Germany for the NATO field Training exercise phase of Operation BIG LIFT, which ended early in November.

 

Specialist Tolaney is assigned as a mechanic in Battery C of the 83d Artillery’s 2nd Howitzer battalion in Germany.

 

The 21-year-old soldier entered the army in March 1961, and completed basic training at Fort Riley, Kans.  He is a 1960 graduate of Greenwood High School.
