Hauge Floral Company (Christmas Wonderland - 12 December 1963)
Christmas Wonderland - The Hauge Floral Company in Neillsville was transformed into a veritable Christmas Wonderland for its open house last Saturday and Sunday. An estimated 400 people, young and younger, visited the greenhouse to view the centerpieces, arrangements and other things which have been attracting people from miles around for several years.
Center of this year’s decorations was a large Santa and sled and animated reindeer, which formed the central decoration of an attractive window. In the greenhouse were upward of a half hundred centerpieces, plus unusual decorations made by Mr. and Mrs. Hauge over the years. Poinsettias in profusion added a glow of brilliant color to the whole area.
Visitors were served coffee and Christmas cookies during the hours of the open house. More than 200 cups of coffee were served, Mr. Hauge reported.
The Hauge Floral Christmas Open House has become a traditional pre-Yule event to which many people of the area look forward to in the days before Christmas.
