Pope, Ray (1915? - 11 MAY 1961)
Ray Pope, 45, route 1, Stetsonville, was found dead in his pickup truck on Main Street here (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) early Thursday evening. Clark County authorities said he apparently suffered a heart attack.
His body was found by his wife about 7:45 p.m. after he failed to return home for supper. Coroner Bob Lulloff said Pope had been in a barber shop at 4:30 p.m. and had left before his turn.
Mr. Pope was to have attended the graduation of his daughter, Orlean, at the high school here Thursday night. Lulloff said that after finding the body, Mrs. Pope accompanied her daughter and two other children to the graduation exercises.
Undersheriff Melvin Zettler and Lulloff investigated.
