Funeral services were held yesterday, Monday, May 15, for Leslie E. Krueger, 68, who passed away Saturday at a hospital in Madison where he had been for the past two weeks being treated for a heart condition. Services were held at the Alliance Church with the parish pastor Rev. James Stone officiating. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Carrying floral offerings were Mesdames Carl Hill and Roy Clark. Pallbearers were C.E. Beck, Harold Frey, Roy Anderson, Al Anderson, Gene Adams and Herb Duce.
A bachelor, Leslie’s health had been failing the past several years after losing a leg in an accident. He worked as a well driller and sawmill operator.
He was one of two Krueger boys who figured in a controversy pertaining to the draft issue during World War I. At the time he and his brother were sentenced to prison terms, later pardoned, for refusing to submit to the draft.
He is survived by a brother, Louis, and other relatives.
