Drenik, Frank (28 August 1904 - 8 January 1964)

Funeral services for Frank Drenik, 59, of Greenwood who died January 8, were held last Friday afternoon from the Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. David Kellin, pastor of Grace Methodist Church officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Drenik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Drenik, Sr., was born in Yugoslavia August 28, 1904.  At the age of 16, he came to the United States, going to Kansas City.  Later he went to Waukegan, Ill.

He was married in Waukegan to Pauline Mahoric on January 30, 1930.  They lived for some time in Kenosha, and came to Greenwood in 1947, and had since resided four miles south of the city.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Allen (Tillie) Truax of Kenosha; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Louise) Baker of Orange, Tex., and Mrs. Frank (Edith) Musech of Waukegan, Ill.; and one step-son, S/Sgt. Frank Mahoric, with the army stationed in Germany, who is here on furlough since the death of his brother, Paul Drenik, on December 12. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren.  A stepson, Paul Mahoric preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were Willard Kline, Lawrence Johnson, Leo Stanley, Arthur Syth, Hugh Christie and Alvin Ehlert, Sr.

People from away attending the funeral were: Mrs. Allen Truax of Kenosha; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Musech of Waukegan, Ill.; S/Sgt. Frank Mahoric, and his wife, Mrs. Frank Mahoric, who is residing near Waverly, Ia.; and other relatives and friends from this surrounding area.
