William Frederick Miller, 89, a resident of Greenwood for 84 years, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Guy Richmond, northwest of here, following a lingering illness.

Mr. Miller was born March 21, 1874, in Theresa. At the age of five years he came to Greenwood with his parents, Peter and Elizabeth (Hiller) Miller. He was married to Anna Toburen, July 22, 1903, in Greenwood.

After their marriage, the Millers farmed in the Town of Mead until five years ago. Since then he resided in the Town of Warner.  His wife died in 1935.

For a number of years he was chairman, treasurer and supervisor in the Town of Mead. For many years he served as treasurer of the Pleasant Ridge Cheese Factory and was a member of Immanuel United Church.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Skyles (Alma) Carruther of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Thone (Selma) Karnitz of Neillsville, Mrs. Guy (Laura) Richmond, and Mrs. Oscar (Ella) Franz of Greenwood; and a son, Oscar Miller of Greenwood.  Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Henry (Emelia) Mattausch of Neillsville.
