Luchterhand, Thomas (01 NOV 1948-06 DEC 2011.
The Shepherd has called home another member of his flock. Thomas Lee Luchterhand, 63, Eleva, left this world for everlasting life on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire.
Memorial services were held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Eau Claire. Rev. Russell Kampfer officiated. Burial will be at a later date.
Thomas Luchterhand was born on Nov.1,1948, in Marshfield, to Robert and Lenore (nee Widmann) Luchterhand. He played football for the Loyal Greyhounds and graduated with the class of 1966. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and Milwaukee School of Engineering.
In 1969, he married Joyce Marie Weigel in Marshfield. He was then drafted into the Air Force and served for four years and was stationed on Elmendorf Air Force Base, Anchorage, Alaska. He continued to live in Alaska with his family after his discharge, where he was a contractor, building both commercial and residential properties.
In 1982, Tom and his wife moved back to Wisconsin where he continued to enjoy building, gardening and playing with his grandchildren. Until he passed away, he was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, where he served on the board of Elders, taught Sunday School, and enjoyed Bible study.
Survivors include his father, Robert; his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Lisa Marie Phillips, Beaver Meadows, Pa., and Lori Joy (Mike) Schwichtenberg, Eau Claire; five grandchildren, Courtney, Morgan, Abigail, Elizabeth and Joshua; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Owen; one sister, Melody (Kim) Williamson; one brother, Ken (Joanna) Luchterhand; two brothers-in-law, Charlie Weigel and John (Ann) Weigel; and two nieces, five nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews.
Waiting for him in Heaven are his mother, Lenore; a niece, Julia Fleisner; and one brother-in-law, Glen Fleisner.
