The 25th reunion of the Owen High School graduating class of 1936 was held on Saturday, Aug. 19, 1961. A tour of the school conducted by W.K. Doonan opened the festivities at 4:00 p.m., followed by a 7:00 dinner for 40 at the Woodland Hotel.
Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Geoge Macik (Julia Adams), Helga Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blum, Mr. and Mrs. James Cattanach, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Elstrom, Mr. and Mrs. John Erickson, Robert Fagan, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Frank, Mrs. Laurence Millard (Kathleen Linjer), Mr. and Mrs. Reino Kivviko (Ivalyn McCray), Mr. and Mrs. Orville Fillipp (Gladys Murray), Mr. and Mrs. Lew Bulgrin (Bertha Niemi), Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hill (Bernice Nowak), Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pueschner (Thelma Parker), Eugene Schafer, Mrs. Kilian Balcom (Edna Simonson), Mr. and Mrs. Newell Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kotowski (Stella Yaron) and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Zelm.
Teachers present were Mr. and Mrs. Oliver King, Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Tolford (Faith Buchanan), Mr. W.K. Doonan, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Tesmer (Margaret Lulloff).
John Erickson, valedictorian of the class, acted as Master of Ceremonies for the occasion. Since everyone agreed that the evening was a huge success, tentative plans were made for another reunion in five years.
