Auman, John (14 June 1879 - 21 February 1964)
John Auman, 84, a pioneer settler of Willard, died Friday afternoon in the Clark County Hospital in Owen, where he had been a patient since December, 1963.
He was born June 14, 1879, in Yugoslavia. When he came to the United States he went to Ely, Minn., living there until he came to Willard in 1912. He was a carpenter by trade.
He was married in June, 1937, to Frances Godina at Willard. Since he went to Owen, his wife has been residing in McHenry, Ill., with her son, Alphonse. Other survivors are his stepchildren, Joe Godina, the Misses Anna and Sally Godina, all of Chicago; and Frank and Alphonse Godina of McHenry, Ill. He is also survived by a brother, Mike of Butte, Mont.
Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. Paul Troper of the Missionary Baptist Church officiated. Burial was made in the National Cemetery at Willard.
