Schnabel, Verlyn A. (16 NOV 1919 - 4 JAN 2012)

 

Verlyn A. Schnabel, 92, of Marshfield died on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at the Golden LivingCenter-Three Oaks in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield.

Visitations will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Rembs Funeral Home and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Verlyn was born on Nov. 16, 1919, in Neillsville to Alfred and Lena (Lipkie) Schnabel where he attended Reed School.

He was united in marriage to Anna M. Ploog on Dec. 14, 1941, in Winona, Minn.

After his education, he worked on the home farm in Neillsville until moving to Marshfield in 1956. He then began employment at Roddis Plywood, now Weyerhaeuser Company until his retirement in 1983.

He enjoyed going fishing with his friends.

Surviving are his wife Anna; daughter, Patricia (William) Myrant-Wangall of Madison; two grandsons, Kevin (Lolly) Myrant of Madison and Keith Myrant of Semi Valley, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother, Leon (June) Schnabel of Neillsville.

Verlyn was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
