Like East Lynn we have been enjoying a short vacation, some others have probably enjoyed it as much as we have and are now able to dissolve the necessary ingredients that are required to make up the local for the immediate vicinity. But by oversight should an article appear that by some seems hard to digest, please call on the Editor and he will be able to prescribe for you.
Otto Kempin will soon leave these parts for the west where he will spend a short time in the harvest fields. Then he will go on to Utah where he intends to locate if the girls are as numerous and willing as those in Fremont.
The Equity held their regular meeting last Friday, several new members were taken in. The next meeting will be held at Neinas hotel in Chili, Aug. 8th, in the evening. In our opinion every farmer should be a member of this organization. Some of the new members gained enough in one shipment to pay their dues for on years. Come and join and help boost a good thing along.
Several from here went to Spencer to see the Indians play ball on Sunday. We had the displeasure of seeing the game played between Chili and a class of people from Nasonville, some of which acted as though they might belong to a tribe that escaped from the Bulgarian government. They had no respect for themselves or anyone else. Chili was glad to have them come and play with them and more than glad to see them go back home, after the game broke up in a row.
Most everyone around here is through haying, John Henning taking up the rear as usual.
Henry Myer of Marshfield went through here Tuesday, picking up a threshing crew and will begin threshing in a short time.
