Carpenter, Patricia B. (Weix) (October 10, 1924 - December 14, 2011)
Patricia B. Carpenter, age 87, of Colby, passed away Wednesday,
December 14, 2011, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in
Marshfield.
Patricia was born October 10, 1924, to Martin and Mary (Tamborino) Weix. She graduated from the Colby High School in 1942. Patricia was united in marriage to Frank Carpenter on October 1, 1946 at the St. Mary’s Rectory in Colby.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a
member of St. Mary’s Christian Mothers Association. Patricia
enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her son, Mark (Gloria) Carpenter; her
grandchildren, Neal (Melissa) Carpenter, Deanna (Harold) Lee, and
Ryan Carpenter; her great grandchildren, Allison and Nathan, and
Kashin, Kassandra, and Takoda; her step- great grandchildren, Erik,
Dakota, and Logan. She is further survived by her brothers and
sisters, Irma Kilty, Alphonse (Jean) Weix, Leo (Marilyn) Weix,
Marry Ellen (Norbert) Dittner, Laura Riese, and Rita (Donald)
Schnabel; her brother-in-law, Pat Weis; and sisters-in-law, Mary
Weix, Bonnie Weix, Doris Carpenter; her friend, Adrian "Smokey"
Klimeck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband; her brothers; Henry
Weix, Leonard Weix, and Paul Weix; and her sister, Mary Ann
Weis.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December
17, 2011 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. Father
Daniel Hackel officiated. A visitation was held from 4-8 p.m.
Friday, December 16, 2011, at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in
Abbotsford and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service
at the church. Burial followed the service at the St. Mary’s
Catholic Cemetery, Colby.
The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home assisted the family with
arrangements.
