Treutel, David J. (October 13, 1944 - December 21, 2011)
David J. Treutel, age 67, of Colby, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at House of the Dove Hospice, Marshfield.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29,
2011, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. Father
Daniel Hackel will officiate. A visitation will be held Wednesday,
December 28, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. at the Maurina Schilling Funeral
Home in Abbotsford, and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the
time of service at the church in Colby.
Dave was born October 13, 1944, in Marshfield to J. Andrew and
Gertrude (Jirschele) Treutel.
He graduated from Columbus High School in Marshfield. After school Dave served his country in the Navy. Dave and Sharon Gutenberger were joined in marriage on August 3, 1968, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. He worked as an auto and truck salesman.
He enjoyed socializing, golfing, grilling, and always finding the
"scenic" route from point A to point B. Dave was a member of the
Colby Lions and a member of St. Mary’s.
Dave is survived by his daughter, Julie (Peter) Maager of Las
Cruces, NM; his son, Jason (Alexis Ernst-Treutel) Treutel of
Madison; and his grandchildren, Aidan and Kate Maager. He is
further survived by his brothers, James (Noreen) Treutel of
Brookfield and Lloyd (Late Vi) Treutel of West Bend; his sister,
Ardelle (Late Carl) Eckes of Marshfield; and his brother-in-law,
Ralph Pokallus of Marshfield. He is also survived by many nieces,
nephews, and good friends.
Dave is preceded in death by his wife; infant son, Kevin; and
sisters, Thelma Pokallus and Elaine (Bob) Wistrom.
