Hirschman, John Morrison (26 October 1898 - 1964)
John Morrison Hirschman, Sr., 65, of Rt. 1 Loyal, formerly of Chicago, Ill., died at his home at 7:45 p.m. Sunday following a lingering illness. Funeral services were to be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood. The body was then taken to Sunset Memorial Park Chicago, for cremation. The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold of our Savior’s Lutheran Church officiated.
Mr. Hirschman was born in Chicago, October 26, 1898 and married Mary Burbridge on October 21, 1922. He was employed in Chicago by the Bell Telephone Company for 36 years. He retired last fall, spent some time in California and then came to reside in Loyal March 5.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John of Orange, Calif., and George of Lockport, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Marian) Fitzl of Loyal, Mrs. James (Charlotte) Rogers of Hampton, N. J., and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Fitzl of Greenwood; 15 grandchildren and by two brothers, Richard of California, and Joseph of Harvey, Ill.
