Arndt, Barbara J. #2 (21 OCT 1961)
Bouquets of lovely fall flowers decorated the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee when Miss Barbara Jean Arndt became the bride of Robert Allen Anderson on Saturday, Oct. 21st, 1961 at a 1:00 o’clock ceremony. The Rev. Howard A. Timmermann officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arndt of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson of Colby.
During the ceremony Mrs. Ted Klabon sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "O Perfect Love," with Mrs. Herman Rabska as organist.
Chosen for her wedding by the bride was a gown of white tulle and lace over satin styled by a straight neckline, long sleeves, and a tiered skirt of lace and tulle. Her fingertip veil fell from a pearl crown and she carried red roses and white carnations.
A sleeveless red lace and net dress fashioned with a bateau neckline and a cummerbund with bow at the front was worn by the matron of honor, Mrs. Harvey Anderson of Withee. Miss Dolly Arndt of Withee, in a peacock blue dress in similar style, was bridesmaid. Each carried a nosegay of red and white carnations.
Harvey Anderson of Withee attended the groom as best man, and Wayne Lindberg, Marshfield, as groomsman. Ushers were Arthur Steager and Oliver Gehrke.
The wedding dinner and dance were held at the Colby City Hall.
The bride is a 1959 graduate of the Owen High School and the groom graduated from the Colby High School in 1954. He is a machinist at Loos Machine Shop in Colby.
After a honeymoon through southern Wisconsin and Illinois, the newlyweds will be at home at route 2, Colby.
