Chili (21 July 1911)
A splendid rain Tuesday night helped the potatoes and corn and probably gave the new mown meadows a new start for second crop or fall pasture.
Fred Grottke got himself a new Acme binder from Degener. The way the bundles will fly won’t be slow, when he gets after the oats. It is a splendid binder, second to none in durability and efficiency.
Mrs. Degener, Vivian and Mrs. Maack went to O. F. Walter’s to visit for a couple of weeks.
A moving picture outfit showed for two nights and thence moved to greener pastures.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Koser had company which left here Wednesday morning.
Some farmers are selling hay right from the field for $8.00 and $8.30 per ton. Verily a good price to commence with.
