York Center (4 August 1911)

 

Rain, rain, rain, is the style of the season!

 

Jerry Davis the path master had his crew out working on the roads Saturday.

 

Isla Rowe is on the sick list. Dr. Ross is in attendance.

 

F. W. Ferris delivered a veal calf to Neillsville Monday.

 

Dan Timerson and wife were the guests of Ben Timerson and wife Sunday.  They also went black berrying.

 

Miss Edna Dwyer has been hired to teach the fall term of school in District No. 2.

 

Miss Grace Campbell and Miss Olive Shafer left Friday night for a visit with relatives at Sheboygan.

 

There was singing school at the M. E. Church Sunday evening. Quite a few were present.

 

Jay Davis took in the sights at Neillsville Saturday.

 

Ed Northup’s youngest son has been sick, but is better at present writing.  Dr. Ross was called upon.

 

Will VandeBerg has purchased a cream separator of Seif & Stelloh.

 

Rosy and Lou Kronberger gave a party Thursday night. Refreshments were served and all report a good time.

 

Parties are getting as plentiful as rain storms.

 

Mrs. Lois VandeBerg and youngest son Merrill left Tuesday morning for a visit with relatives at Baldwin and Clear Lake.

 

Horace Lawrence delivered a veal calf to Neillsville Tuesday.

 

The A. Lee family was guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Rowe Sunday.

 

John VandeBerg delivered a veal calf to Granton Tuesday.

 

Wm. Benedict painted Mrs. S. A. Lindsley’s buggy last week.  It made it look like a new buggy.
