Chili (4 August 1911)
L. A. Reichert, his wife, sister-in-law and children made a visit at Mrs. Reichert’s at Mapleworks with Verhagen’s team and rig, returning in the evening.
Mrs. A. Degener was in Marshfield between trains Wednesday.
On account of Chas Bealer’s wedding near Grand Rapids a number of his relatives including his parents, brothers, his uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. R. Guk, his cousins Will and Chas Guk, Mr. and Mrs. Will Neinas and others went to Vesper to attend the wedding.
Next week Tuesday the marriage of Will Bealer and Miss Grobe will be celebrated at the home of the bride’s parents. This young couple will commence housekeeping in the groom’s new splendid house which he had built the last year and finished this spring.
Don’t forget to look up Degener’s line of plows if you intend to buy. He carries the best made in walking, sulky or gang plows.
Clark Waterman and Wenzel Gebhard took in the ball game at Granton and called on friends the same time.
Rain and sunshine have been changing quite regular lately, part of the time the rain prevailing.
A few more days and cutting grain will be all done, and then haying can be finished.
The price of potatoes will come down soon to where it belongs.
A beautiful kitchen shower was given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. L. Waterman who arrived last Tuesday from Winona. It was really a surprise to the young couple who did not even dream of it. In all 37 were present and a nice time was had by all who participated.
Mrs. Mary Fischer was a Granton caller Thursday.
