Steager, Anna (1861 - 29 NOV 1961)

 

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home fro Mrs. Anna Steager, 80, who died Wednesday morning at the Stanley Hospital.

 

The Rev. Beryl Knudsen officiated and burial was made at the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.  Pallbearers were Jack Olds, Harry Bruckschleger, Leon Bruchert, Walter Heideman, Grant Anderson and Andrew Christensen.

 

In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Edna Olds, Mrs. Selma Heideman, Mrs. Ethel Anderson and Mrs. Eleanore Christensen.

 

Miss Bunee Kraut, accompanied by Mrs. Durane Morschek sang "In the Garden: and "Beyond the Sunset."

 

Born in Germany in 1861 she came to this country when a young girl with her parents and lived in Glenwood City.

 

In 1889 she was united in marriage to Jacob Steager in Withee.  They lived in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) until 1911,w ehn they moved to their farm west of Withee, where they lived the rest of their lives.

 

She is survived by one son, Peter and three grandchildren.

 

Her husband, one son, Otto, and her great-granddaughter, three sisters and three brothers proceeded her in death.

 

Out of town people attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Brandt, Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Nielsen and Mrs. Harry Gustafson of Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stacke of Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. George Stark and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Sache of Greenwood.
