Helfer, Patricia (19 NOV 1961)

Making their home in Columbus, Ohio are Mr. and Mrs. Jack R. Poppe, who were married Saturday, Nov. 18, 1961, at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbus, Ohio, by the Rev. Richard Crosser.

The groom, son of Mrs. Violet Poppe, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), is stationed at nearby Lockbourne Air Force Base.  Mrs. Poppe, the former Patricia Ann Helfer, daughter of Mrs. Elmer D. Helfer, Columbus, Ohio, was given in marriage by her brother, Daniel Helfer.

Altar flowers were white gladioli interspersed with white Shasta pompons, similar pompons secured with white satin bows being place used for aisle markers.

The bride was attired in a gown of white bouquet taffeta, a lace panel highlighting the chapel train.  Her fingertip veil of illusion fell from a Contessa coronet of pearls and she carried a cascade of Fugi mums centered with a white orchid.

Miss Eileen Helfer, Columbus, Ohio, the maid of honor, and Mrs. Fredrick Helfer and Miss Cathy Helfer, also of Columbus, Ohio, the bridesmaids, wore identical floor length gowns of mint green organza over taffeta and carried cascades of red roses.

Little Kristine Sillampa was the flower girl and James Gordon the ring bearer.  Daniel Poppe, La Crosse, served as best man, and Fredrick Helfer and Dennis Berna as ushers.

After the wedding, a reception was held at the American Legion Home at Columbus, Ohio, and has been employed by the National Automotive Parts Co.  Mr. Poppe, who was graduated in 1956 from Owen-Withee High School, is serving in the U.S. Air Force.
