Ben Beeckler leaves today for Canora, Canada.

Mrs. E.A. Beeckler will entertain the Circle next Wednesday.

Miss Gladys Wage is home since Saturday from a several months absence between Superior and Duluth.

Rev. Zielsdorf and family of Nasonville were guests at Rev Reiff’s the first of the week.

Mrs. Wm. Crosby of Glenbeulah accompanied her granddaughters, the Misses Henze, home Wednesday.

 Miss Edith Lee and brother Will came up from Merrillan Wednesday to visit at Louis Hayden’s.

Byrl Winn is assisting in the erection of silos at the Wood Co. Asylum farm since Wednesday.

Ira Galbreath is here from North Dakota in response to news of his brother, Robert’s, serious illness.

Mrs. Julia Bennett of Pennsylvania arrived here Wednesday morning on a visit to her brother Chas. Hayden, whom she had not seen in 32 years.

Mrs. Olive Bundy and daughter Winifred of Beloit, after a several weeks visit at the Lew Smith home, left for Packwaukee on Wednesday.

Gottlieb Hillert has been visiting Sheboygan Co. relatives the past two weeks.

Miss Harriet Hemmick of Chicago is here since last Saturday visiting at B.F. Frazier’s in the town of Lynn.

Floyd Winn is working for W.S. Davis.

Prof. Vincent went to Wausau Tuesday.

Mrs. Gardner McClaflin and son Merrill went home to Arpin on Monday.

Dan Gluch Jr. is home from the Eau Claire hospital, convalescing since Monday.

The Misses Delia and Lucille Henze returned home from their 2 week visit at Plymouth on Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Phipps, Mr. and Mrs. Orren Montgomery, Mr. and Mrs. Twohig and son Robert, with Mr. Marvin Conger, drove to Neillsville Wednesday and spent the day.

Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Riley of Pearl City, Ill., are visiting at the B.F. Frazier home in the town of Lynn.  Mrs. Riley is an adopted daughter of the Fraziers.

Miss Louise Krause arrived home yesterday after a four month absence and visit at her sister Clara’s in Pemberville, Ohio.

Rev. E.A. Wolfe will hold services at the Union Church next Sunday evening.  Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

Mrs. Homer King’s birthday was celebrated last week Thursday in a becoming manner when 16 of her close friends took possession of the house and showed her how it should be done.

Marvin Conger of Fond du Lac came up Tuesday for a several days visit with his cousin Orren Montgomery.

Mrs. G.L. Smith, her daughter Grace and youngest son came up from West Lima, Wednesday for a week’s visit at the Will Smith home.

Mrs. Bruno Dudei and children and Miss Clara Goebel came home on Wednesday after a week’s visit at Globe.

Neil, Richard, Frank and Noble Downer autoed to Tioga Tuesday and brother home a fine lot of blackberries, picked and purchased.

Anton Schultz of Wausau is the new barber at the Granton Brass Band Barber Shop.

Mrs. Chas. Reed and little son came home Tuesday from several week visit at Plymouth.  She was accompanied by her mother Mrs. Stier who will remain with her for an indefinite time.

Joseph Leonard and son of Stevens Point, the former an old schoolmate of Jos. Brown’s, spent Sunday here with Mr. Brown.  Mrs. Brown and daughter Edna still continue at Barrington, Ill., whither they went several weeks since.

Mrs. Calkins and son jack of Chippewa Falls are here since Wednesday, guests in the D.S. rausch home.

Simeon and Byron Stevens and the Cole brothers were down from Spokeville and purchased horses from Ross Paulson on Wednesday.

Miss Birdine Kihn is visiting at Loyal since Wednesday when she went that far with her brother Harold, who continued on to their home at Park Falls.  Birdine is expected to return her on Sunday.

Dr. Leonard Harriman of Lake Mills was up last week and accompanied his cousin Miss Nellie Hungerford of Cedarhurst to Chicago, where on Wednesday of last week in one of the hospitals there they young lady underwent a most delicate operation for the removal of a large goiter.  She has written friends here announcing the success of the operation and anticipate getting home quite okay to Cedarhurst this Saturday.

Little Goldie Dahlke at the D.F. Riedel farm, while riding a pony Tuesday, had the playful fellow duck and throw her.  Her face and arms bear mute testimony of the severity of the fall.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Daughhetee, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Downer, Mrs. R. Rath and Mrs. Hale Davis autoed to Tioga and enjoyed black berry picking Tuesday.

Mrs. Rush Wentworth is visiting relatives and friends at Edgerton since Wednesday.  Rush accompanied her as far as Merrillan.

Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Kemmeter, their daughter Rose and son Stanley arrived home all okay after a several weeks absence and auto trip to Neenah, Menasha, Milwaukee and various other state points.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sherman of Nasonville with their baby suffered a terrible automobile accident last Sunday when their car turned turtle.  Mrs. Sherman was seriously injured.  Mr. Sherman painfully so and the baby escaped without a scratch.

One of Maple Work’s best known landmarks is being destroyed in the tearing down of the Nelson Marsh old home, this week.

Miss Mary Rude of Neillsville was taken to the Marshfield hospital Tuesday in a critical condition and that day underwent an operation for appendicitis.  She survived the operation, but at last report was still in alarming condition.

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Williams of Neillsville spent much of the past ten days here at the Gene Crandall home.  Mrs. Crandall, their daughter, has been suffering from the measles since last week Thursday and confined to her bed most of the time.
