The ballgame Last Sunday between the Indians and Chili was quite interesting, even if Chili got beat by the score of 4 to 10 in favor of the Indians.  It was a close game up to the 5^th inning when Carl Yankee, the pitcher for Chili, go tired.  Then the Indians got the start and woke up.  That was the worst inning.  After that Earl Drake pitched for Chili.  The Indians held Chili quite close.  Their pitcher seemed to become stronger the more he pitched.  Considering that all the chili players are hard working men, it must be said that they played well.  The visitors are not working very hard and have a good deal more of practice.  All in all it was a good clean game worthwhile seeing.

The bank robbery her Friday afternoon was certainly pulled off in up to date style, and the bank robber got away in good shape, taking advantage of the nearby woods.  It was an easy matter for even a single man to surprise the bank cashier and elude pursuit.  Nobody was even dreaming of this.  There was not even a loaded arm of any kind.

The building of Pratt Dawes and of the Lutheran church are making due progress.

Monday the manager of the Franklin Insurance Co. was here looking up matters in regard to the bank robbery.

Tuesday a detective from St. Paul was here trying to find the trail of the robber.

Mr. and Mrs. Clark Waterman spent Sunday with her parents at Granton.

The oat and barley crop are good this year.  Some oats has been threshed that yielded 75 bushel to the acre.  Barley was as high as 35 to 40 bushel to the acre.  Potatoes also will be a good crop here.

A harvest dance will be given at the opera house Saturday even, Aug. 16.  Shoengarth’s orchestra will furnish the music.  Everybody is invited.
