Foemmel’s Corners (18 August 1911)

Emil Krause has been laid up for several days with a lame back.

Mrs. Eibergen finished work at John Pietenpol’s last week.

Mrs. Hale Davis spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. John Pietenpol.

Miss Edna Kemmeter and Milton Page were Sunday guests at Rella Osgood’s.

Mr. A. J. Lammers has moved his family downstairs into the rooms he has had fitted up and is now having a wide porch built across the front of the living rooms.

Truman Davis and family Sundayed at W. S. Davis’ and took in the ball game that afternoon.

Frank Krejci helped his brothers-in –law Tony and Pete Schafer thresh Wednesday.

It isn’t polite to find fault with the weather, but we would be willing that some of the states that are drying should have half of our rain.

Mr. Ray Campbell and Miss Ethel Lowery were married last week Friday and have gone to housekeeping on his farm in York formerly known as the Alan Wiggen farm.

A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fradette last Sunday evening.

It is reported that Mrs. Dankemyer has an 8 ½ lb boy born Aug. 9.  That makes the first grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Krause.

The Roy Lawrence and Harmon Huntley families Sundayed at Geo. Huntley’s

Frank Lavey has lightening rods on everything, even to "old Bill" the horse.

Mr. and Mrs. Preston and Mr. and Mrs. Mayhew took supper with Mr. and Mrs. Lammers Sunday evening.

Eldred Davis went Tuesday and stayed until Wednesday afternoon with his grandparents.

Who says Granton is not growing?  You’ll change your mind after you see the pickle factory and the amount of pickles come in there.

Lily Ackerman and cousin Mr. Eirtes spent Wednesday with friends in Chili.

Mrs. Truman Davis and children, Mrs. Frank Sweet and son Gilbert visited at the John Breese home Tuesday.

Mrs. Sweet and children returned last week from Nebraska whither they went some 4½ years ago with Mr. Sweet to take up a claim.  Mr. Sweet will return later after having proved up on same.

Mrs. Fred Foemmel Sr. still continues quite ill with bowel trouble.
