Last week -

 

Wm VandeBerg is nursing a fine abscess on his left limb.

 

Wm Rogers closed camp meeting Sunday after three weeks of fine preaching.

 

Miss Alice Young is enjoying a visit from two of her cousins from Sheboygan.

 

Miss Ollie Shafer returned last Wednesday from her visit with her grandmother at Sheboygan.

 

 Threshing is all the go nowadays.

 

Bert Lawrence and wife took in the sights at Neillsville Wednesday.

 

Miss Mabel Turner entertained five of her girl friends at supper Sunday night.

 

Orin Lawrence recently purchased three cows of Fred Heibel.

 

Last Saturday while John VandeBerg and wife were going to Neillsville an auto ran into them, breaking the buggy and throwing them out. The bone in Mrs. VandeBerg’s arm was cracked.

 

Wm Lawrence took a picture of the threshers while threshing at John VandeBerg’s.

 

This week -

 

There was a gathering of young folks at the home of Alice Young Thursday evening in honor of her guests. All report a good time.

 

Mrs. Esther Livingston is very ill.  Mrs. Williams is doing the housework.

 

Wm Rowe, wife and son Jesse and family, Mrs. Glen Rowe, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rowe and children and A. P. Fulwiler, wife and children all enjoyed a fine dinner on the banks of Black River Friday.

 

Mrs. F. W. Ferris is enjoying a visit from her mother.

 

Wm VandeBerg purchased a mare and colt of Scott Davis, Saturday.

 

The ballgame a week ago Sunday between North York and Fremont resulted in a victory for Fremont. Score 21-5

 

There was a surprise party given Ethel Graves in honor of her birthday Monday evening.  All present report a fine time.

 

Miss Grace Campbell returned home Monday from her visit with relatives at Sheboygan.

 

Glen and Jesse Rowe and family left Sunday night after a visit under the parental roof.

 

There was a chicken pie social in the Woodman Hall Tuesday night.

 

There was quite a heavy frost Monday night.

 

 There will be meeting Sunday evening in the M. E. Church. All are invited to come.  A league will be started.
