Chili (1 September 1911)

Fair weather for Neillsville combined with a little rain as usual.

The dance Saturday night was connected with a little rumpus caused by outsiders being a little too joyful.

Mrs. C. G. Maack and Miss Vivian Degener went to town Grant to visit a few days with their parents and grandparents.

The perfect electric wire fence and wood fibre wall plaster sold by H. Degener. Come and see them!

Next week school will commence in our district with Vera Beeckler as teacher.

The frost Tuesday morning nipped some of the corn in the low fields near creeks, but did not touch very much. Some of the corn is so far advanced that it has been cut and others are cutting. Another week or two without frost will give a good part more of ripe corn.

Don’t forget to sort your potatoes on the field, to pick out the green and burnt ones and small sized ones, when you bring them to the market.  It will save lots of trouble at the car and potato house.

Herman Henning and family autoed to Granton Wednesday.

Albert Degener transacted business at Granton Wednesday.
