Utke, Albert (4 MAY 1871 - 5 FEB 1962)
At 2:00 o’clock this afternoon funeral services for Albert Utke, 90, will be conducted at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. Rev. Howard Timmerman, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Green Grove, will officiate, with burial to be made at Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hilmer Gustafson, Cornelius Driscoll, Edward Bjorn, Barney Lulloff, Bernard Jacobsen and Walter Peterson.
He passed away Monday at the Havenet Nursing Home, Owen, where he had been a resident for the apst four years.
Mr. Utke was born May 4, 1871, in Pomerania, Germany. He came to the United States and settled near Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) where he had lived most of his life. On Nov. 8, 1904 at Hanvover, Wis., he was united in marriage to the former Amelia Borken, who preceded him in death six years ago. The couple farmed in the Town of Green Grove until their retirement….(some of my article was missing)
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Grove.
Surviving are a son, Roy, of Curtiss; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son Albert, three sisters and four brothers.
