Retzlaff, Laura (Marriage - 6 September 1911)
At three o’clock Wednesday afternoon in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives, Rev. Zielsdorf pastor of the Lutheran Church of Fremont united in marriage Mr. Louis Knoop and Miss Laura Retzlaff. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Retzlaff and was born and reared in this neighborhood and is highly respected by all those she has come in contact with. The groom who came here from Pine Valley some 4 years ago is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Knoop and is a young man of good habits and a fitted husband to the life companion he has chosen.
Wm. Duge, Frank Knoop and Charley Behling represented groomsmen while Elsie Knoop, Emma Retzlaff and Louisa Grade acted as bridesmaids. The bride was dressed in blue silk and the groom wore the conventional black. Immediately after the ceremony the party returned to the bride’s former home and a bounteous wedding supper was served and the newly wedded pair received many costly and useful presents. The happy pair will begin housekeeping at once on the groom’s farm and their host of friends join with us to wish them a long, happy and prosperous life that they so richly deserve.
