Neisius, Beverly Ann (16 March 1942 - 3 January 2012)
Beverly A. Neisius, age 69, of Thorp, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday January 9, 2012, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Don Meuret officiated and burial followed in East Thorp Cemetery in Thorp. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Sunday, January 8, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary service. Visitation was also held at the church on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Beverly Ann Hempelman was born on March 16, 1942, in the Town of Aurora, rural Gilman, the daughter of Ralph and Avis (Hagen) Hempelman. She later received her education at Thorp area schools. Beverly was united in marriage to Jerome Neisius on August 13, 1960, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. In 1976, they purchased her family’s farm in the Town of Withee, rural Thorp, and farmed until retirement.
Beverly was a devoted mother, housewife and farm wife, who lived life to the fullest and always found time to spend with family and friends. She especially enjoyed sewing, knitting, canning, gardening, painting pictures and playing cards.
She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Jerome, of Thorp; three children: Cathy Bohl (fiancé Ed Nolan) of Medford, Janette (Richard) Jacque of Thorp, and Cheryl Neisius (special friend Wally Grill) of Mondovi; 12 grandchildren: Christie, Cindy, Danielle, Lisa, Beth, Jenny, Katie, Ryan, Allan, Adam, Angie and Randy; eight great-grandchildren: Braden, Josh, Megan, Maxwell, Madeline, Jack, Wes and Caitlyn; one brother, Tom Hempelman of Thorp; one sister, Karen (Jerome) Markquart of Cascade, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two daughters: Cyndee Neisius-Brown and Lori A. Fritz.
