Naedler, Edwin A. (6 March 1897 - 1 May 1964)

 

Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville for Edwin A. Naedler, 67, of St. Paul, Minn., who died May 1, in the Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul. The Rev. E. G. Burtness officiated.  Burial was made in Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Edwin A. Naedler was born March 6, 1897, in Jefferson, to William F. and Margaret (Geyer) Naedler.  He came with his parents in 1900 to Clark County, where they located on a farm.  He attended rural schools of the county; was a 1915 graduate of Neillsville High School, and was a graduate of Wisconsin State College in La Crosse.  He taught school for several years before he entered World War I.

 

On returning to civilian life he resumed teaching; but for the last 25 years he had been an employee of a cab company in St. Paul. 

 

He is survived by a daughter, Eleanor Ritter, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Smith, addresses unknown; three brothers, Henry and Hilbert Naedler of Neillsville and William A. Naedler of Granton.

 

Pallbearers were: Marvin Naedler, William C. Naedler, Allen Naedler, Calvin Swenson, John Kauffman and Charles Smith.

 

"One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and "Abide with Me" were sung by Wilfred Galstad, accompanied by Mrs. E. G. Burtness.

 

People from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. William A. Naedler, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Naedler, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Naedler, all of the Granton area; Mr. and Mrs. John Kauffman of Fairchild; and Mr. and Mrs. C. Smith and family of St. Paul, Minn.
