Syryczuk, Victoria S. (9 May 1926 - 31 December 2011)
Victoria S. Syryczuk, age 85, of Lublin, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Oakbrook Health & Rehab., in Thorp. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday January 5, 2012, at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. Rev. Marion Talaga officiated and burial followed in St. Mary’s PNCC Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Thorp Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation was also held on Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service, at the Church.
Victoria S. Szemraj was born on May 9, 1926, in the Town of Roosevelt, rural Lublin, WI, the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Wyczykowski) Szemraj. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Lublin area. After completing her schooling, Vicki went to work at Blue Moon Cheese in Thorp. She was united in marriage to Donald Syryczuk on October 29, 1949, at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. Vicki continued to work at Blue Moon Cheese for a few more years. She was a homemaker and farm wife, working on the farm with her husband until selling the farm to their son, Andy, in 1991. She continued to reside on the farm until entering Oakbrook Health & Rehab in December 2008.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking.
She is survived by: one son, Andrew (Alice) of Lublin; four grandchildren: Mark (Odessa), Donald (Jessica), Douglas (Nicole), and Nicholas (Stacy); 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Donald, on May 19, 1999; five brothers: Stanley, John, Joe, Pete and Walter Szemraj; and two sisters: Bernice Bandach and Frances Lewan.
