Neillsville Area (7 May 1964)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Swarthout of Spencer spent several days at the E. A. Georgas home while Mr. and Mrs. Georgas were in Minneapolis.

 

Mrs. Jessie Beeckler entertained her 500 card club last Thursday evening.

 

Sunday luncheon guests at the Henry Dahnert home were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dahnert of Cambridge, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dahnert of Wisconsin Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahnert.

 

Marie Stucki of Chicago and her brother David, of Madison, are expected to spend this weekend with their mother, Mrs. Ella Stucki.

 

Mrs. Matt Gassen, Sr., of La Crosse spent several days the forepart of the week with her son, Matt Gassen, Jr., and his family Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. Gassen and family took her to her home in La Crosse. Mrs. Gassen, Sr., recently returned from Hawaii, where she spent the weekend.

 

Atty. And Mrs. Robert Monk of Wausau were Sunday afternoon guests of Dr. and Mrs. M. E. Bennett.

 

Mrs. Emma Zank, who has been spending several weeks with her son, Harold, and his family, in Center City, Minn., is spending a few weeks with her son, Walter, and his family on Grand Avenue.  Her son, Louis of Center City, and her two granddaughters, Cathy and Shery, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Zank brought her to Neillsville.

 

Mrs. Jim Cahill and son, Pat, of Chicago, visited last week with her mother, Mrs. Ole Larsen, and with other area relatives.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Martin Feuerstein spent the weekend in Oshkosh with their daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Frank, and her family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Qualley of Sherwood and his mother, Mrs. H. A. Qualley, visited Sunday with Mrs. Ole Larsen.

 

John Swenson is a patient in  the Veterans Hospital in Madison.  He was visited last week by Mrs. Swenson and Mrs. Calvin Swenson.

 

Fred Subke, Jr., of New Richmond was a dinner guest Tuesday of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Subke, Sr.  He was enroute to Neenah to attend a business meeting.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zank and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Shaw and children were Sunday afternoon callers at the Walter Zank home.

 

Mrs. William Stockwell, Mrs. Clara Pagenkopf and Mrs. Emma Zank were Sunday afternoon visitors at the Ed Stelloh home.

 

Hattie Winton visited Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Ronald Shaw in Pine Valley.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lukes and family drove to New Lisbon Saturday, where they met an aunt, Mrs. A. G. Jacobson of Janesville, who had been visiting in New Lisbon.  Mrs. Jacobson accompanied them to Neillsville for a visit of several days with the Lukes family.

 

Mrs. Richard Reddig of Pittsburgh, Pa., arrived Saturday to spend a week with her father, Rev. George Grether, while Mrs. Grether is visiting her son, Frank Grether and his family, in St. Cloud Minn.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Art Nagel and granddaughter, Janice, of Colby visited Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Tesmer.
