Steltenpohl, Rosa A. (19 August 1899 - 15 June 1964)

 

Funeral services will be conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o’clock for Mrs. William (Rosa A) Steltenpohl, 64, of Neillsville, who died Monday in Junction City.  The Rev. E. G. Burtness will officiate at services from the Calvary Lutheran Church.  Burial will be made in the Nasonville Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Steltenpohl, the former Rosa Duchow, was born August 19, 1899, in Brillion.  She was the daughter of the late Ed and Anna (Voight) Duchow.  She received her education in the Town of Fremont schools.

 

She was married September 28, 1916, to William Steltenpohl at Nasonville.  Following their marriage, and later, they operated a blacksmith shop in Chili for many years.  They moved to Neillsville in 1963.

 

She is survived by her husband, and six children: Harold of Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Howard (Vera) Ver Hagen of Lake Villa, Ill.; Mrs. Ivan (Fern) Cowen of Caledonia; Fred of Racine; Elmer of Neillsville; and Mrs. Jack (Charlotte Compron of Daleville, Ala.  Other survivors are: three sisters, Mrs. John (Hattie) Steltenpohl of Nasonville, Mrs. Kenneth (Edna) Morrison of Loves Park, Ill., and Mrs. Dave (Viola) Clive of Vesper; a brother, Leonard Duchow of Vesper; two uncles, Adolph and Gust Voight of Loyal; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church and the American Lutheran Church Women.
