Rossow, Dr. Russell J (1902 - 10 Jan. 1959)
Funeral services for Dr. Russell J. Rossow, 56, Evansville, Indiana who died Saturday, Jan. 10, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Dr. Rossow was born in Greenwood in 1902, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius H. Rossow. He was a graduate of the Greenwood High School.
In 1925 he received his B.S. Degree from the University of Wisconsin, graduated from Washington University Medical School in 1939, was an interne in St. Louis County Hospital, Missouri, and also served with the University of Illinois Health Service.
He was an elder at First Presbyterian Church, Evansville; past president of the Vanderburgh County Medical Society; past president of the local branch of the American Medical Association and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Madison.
He was on the staff of the three Evansville hospitals and was past president of the Baptist Hospital Staff.
He also belonged to the Indiana Medical Association; Phi Chi medical fraternity at Washington University, St. Louis; and American Academy of General Practitioners.
Survivors include his wife, a son Curt in High School, a son Craig in the army, a daughter, Janice in the University, his mother of Loyal, a sister, Mrs. Floy Ashley, and a brother, Louis Rossow of Chippewa Falls, and a brother, Edward Rossow of Loyal.
Attending the funeral from Loyal were his mother, Mrs. Julius Rossow, his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rossow, and his aunt, Mrs. Henry Boe.
