Mrs. Mabel Misfeldt of Thorp spent part of a week in Menomonie as a guest of Christine Klatt. They also attended their 56^th alumni banquet there.

Mr. and Mrs. Loren Mullison and daughter of Denver, Colo., and Robert Haas were recent supper guests at the Robert Smith home in Thorp.

Mr. and Mrs. Marion Teclaw and two children of Luverne, Minn., spent a week with his mother, Mrs. Verna Teclaw of Thorp.

Mrs. A. E.  Bauer of Thorp was taken to a Stanley hospital after suffering a heart attack at her home. She is reported improving.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Herman have returned after spending a week with relatives in Oak Lawn, Franklin Park, Schiller Park, Carpentersville, Melrose Park and Des Plaines, Ill.

Mr. and Mrs. Dick Mulvey and Teddy Walther of Chicago were weekend guests at the Stanley Dubicki home in Thorp.

Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Pochman of Maywood, Ill., were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Justin Jaskowicz of Thorp.

Robin Huls of Thorp spent a week at the Jerry Harman home in Janesville.

Mrs. Mayme Milligan and son and Mrs. Clara Ebben of Thorp spent a week with relatives in Oak Lawn, Ill.  They also were in Milwaukee, where they attended the graduation of Judy Milligan from an executive secretarial school.

Mr. and Mrs. David Weinberger of Thorp, Mrs. Gordon Thorson of Owen, Mrs. Jack Jalling and son and Mr. and Mrs. William Weinberger of Withee, spent a weekend in Milwaukee, where they attended the graduation of David Mattes. 

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ebben of Mayville, Ill. and Mrs. Clara Ebben of Thorp visited recently with the Jim Sneen family in Eau Claire.

Don Papierniak of Thorp, who has been employed by an insurance company in Milwaukee, has been transferred to the company’s regional office in Denver, Colo., effective June 15. 

Miss Doris Benzschawel is spending her vacation with her parents in Thorp. She plans to accompany them to Columbus, O., to visit her sister, Mrs. Dale Hagg and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schultze will hold open house Sunday, June 21, at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schesel on Rt. 3 Thorp.

Four sets of mouth-to-mouth mask resuscitators, with aspirator assemblies and nylon carrying bags have been donated to Thorp by Louie and Clara Gruszynski of Thorp. They are to be used by firemen, police officers and at the Thorp swimming pool.

Deaths: Ella Robinson Nicolai, 64; Louis Jurgelewicz, 29; Mrs. Frank Cieslik, 48; John Norton, 74.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laabs and family, Lester Kruger and Lionel Schiszik, all of Curtiss, have returned from a week’s outing at Yellow Lake. The group was joined by Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Krueger and family of Albuquerque, N. M. 

Harold Mueller of Rt. 2, was taken by ambulance to a Madison hospital June 5, after he was found, unconscious and bleeding, by members of his family.  It is presumed that he was felled by a cow, which he had said earlier he was going to bring in from the pasture.  Enroute to Madison the ambulance was struck broadside by another car at Middleton. Despite damage to the ambulance, it had police escort into Madison.  John Lukowicz, a member of the ambulance staff, was treated for back and neck injuries.  Others making the ambulance trip were Ray Graham and Bob Bredlau.

Mrs. Harold Kalepp, Sr., of Abbotsford celebrated her birthday recently by having all of her children and grandchildren together for a birthday dinner.

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Cook and son have returned to Ames, Ia., after spending a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Apfelbeck of Abbotsford.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Thorne have moved to Owen. Mr. and Mrs. Salem Johnson of Colby were the purchasers.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Habeck and daughters, Rhonda and Rochelle, of Roanoke, Va., were weekend guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Habeck of Colby, and visited other area relatives.

Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Phillips of Tomah, who are planning to move to Owen July 1, attended to business matters in Owen recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen of Owen have returned from a week’s visit with their daughter and her family in Denver, Colo.

Mr. and Mrs. Archie Nourse and Mrs. Veda Mertens of Withee spent a weekend at the Charles Looker home in Hayward.

Mrs. Myrtle Munson has returned to Withee after spending several days with relatives and friends in southern Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. John Urman of Long Prairie, Minn., were guests several days recently of their son, The Rev. LeRoy Urman, and his family in Withee.

Mr. and Mrs. William McAdam and family of Farmington, Minn., recently visited his mother in Withee.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Engel who visited recently in Valparaiso, Ind., were accompanied home by their daughter, Connie, who attended the University there.  She is planning to spend the summer vacation at home.
