Anderson, Edward (29 FEB 1884 - 5 APR 1962)

 

Edward Anderson, 78, a longtime resident of the Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) community, succumbed to a heart condition last Thursday at his rural farm home.  He was 78 years of age.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home.  The Rev. Cecil Ward read the final rites with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Adam Michur, Lloyd Nerdrum, Levin Dickinson, Otto Engel, LeRoy Rossier and Ray Slock.  In charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Lloyd Nerdrum, Mrs. Adam Michur, Ann Ristola, Mrs. Otto Engel, Mrs. Levi Dickinson and Dolly Arndt.

 

Born Feb. 29, 1884, at Rockland, Wis., the deceased came to this community shortly after his marriage to Dorothy Anderson on Jan. 15, 1914, at Rome, Georgia.  He worked on the railway until 1932, when he established himself on a farm north of Withee in the Town of Hixon.

 

Mrs. Anderson is survived by three sons, Harvey and Howard of Withee, and Roger of Marshfield; six daughters, Mrs. Ed Engel, Withee, Mrs. Alfred Luzinski, Lublin, Mrs. Rudolf Mengel, Owen, Mrs. Alfred Gehrke, Owen, Mrs. Alvin Garke, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Clarence Warnke, Wis. Rapids; five sisters, Mrs. Julia Hansen, Milwaukee, Mrs. Hilda Peterson, Owen, Mrs. Bertha Auberg, Withee, Mrs. Ruth Andres, Milwaukee; two brothers, Elmer, Owen, and Milton, Withee; 30 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
