Machlett, Christina #3 (7 NOV 1877 - 1 MAY 1962)
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home at Owen for Mrs. Fred Machlett, 84, who died Tuesday in Tijeras, N.M. The Rev. William Anderson of Highland officiated and burial was made in the Curtiss Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Randall, James Machlett, Charles Bejin Jr., Gerald and Jerome Johnson and John Hanson.
Mrs. Opal Peissig and Mrs. Robert Mattson, accompanied by Mrs. Alfred Thompson, sang "The Old rugged Cross" and "Under His Wing."
The former Christina Hanson was born Nov. 7, 1877 in Abbotsford. She was married in 1898 in Withee to Fred Machlett. The couple lived in the Owen and Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) area until his death in 1946, when she went to New Mexico and resided with her son, Henry.
In addition her her son, she is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Evelyn) Rice, Toledo, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Laurel Bailey, Texas; Mrs. Pauline Randall, Owen, and Miss Anna B. Hanson and Mrs. Norma Johnson, Abbotsford; and two brothers, Peter and Ole Hanson, Abbotsford.
A son died in infancy.
