Gottlieb Brechbuhl (July 4, 1869-January 22, 1943)
Gottlieb Brechbuhl was born July 4, 1869, in Switzerland. He grew to manhood and for 30 years followed the blacksmith trade in Switzerland. He served three years in the first World war.
He was married to Marie Kernen on April 23, 1893, and in 1921 the family came to America, where Mr. Brechbuhl became a farmer. For the past 18 years he had lived on his farm in the township of Beaver.
He died of heart disease on Friday, Jan. 22, in St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield.
He is survived by his wife and four children: three daughters, Mrs. Herman Enabnit of Central City, Ia., Mrs. Henry Bloom of Greenwood and Mrs. Lyle Robinson of Joliet, Ill., and one son, Gottlieb Brechbuhl, of Waukesha. One sister and two brothers are in Switzerland. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held for Mr. Brechbuhl at 1:30 Monday afternoon in the Ohlrogge funeral parlors, with the Rev. J. C. Langholz officiating. Interment was in the Beaver cemetery.
The hymns were sung by Mrs. Erwin Noeldner and Laura Noeldner, with Marie Kadolph as accompanist.
Pallbearers were Joe Shefchick, George Foelsch, Hugo Schuette, William Kloszinski, Albert Schuette and Joseph Pachal.
The flowers were in charge of Mrs. Louie Pachal, Mrs. Ulysses Cain, Mrs. George Foelsch, Mrs. Walter Pieper, Mrs. Elmer Schuette and Alice Pachal.
One daughter from away, Mrs. Robinson, attended the funeral.
***The Gottlieb and Marie Breckbuhl farm was in Section 14 of the Town of Beaver, on the east side of what is now Pelsdorf Ave.
