Franz, Carol Jean (Marriage - 20 June 1964)
The Missionary and Alliance Church in Owen was the scene June 20 of the wedding of Miss Carol Jean Franz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Franz of Owen, and Sp/4 Lester D. Sinette, Jr., of Ft. Eustis, Va., son of Lester and Iola Sinette, Sr., of Holcombe and Loyal. The single ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Woodring. Altar decorations consisted of baskets of roses and peonies.
Approximately 150 guests witnessed as the bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Albert Franz, who accepted the honor due to the illness of her father.
Her maid-of-honor was Anita Rollins of Loyal, who wore an aqua street-length dress of nylon and taffeta. Her bridesmaid, Miss Annette Franz, was attired in a yellow street length dress of nylon and taffeta. Both attendants carried colonial bouquets of yellow pom-poms and white carnations.
The bride wore a floor length gown of French lace and tulle, styled with a fingertip veil attached to a crown of pearls and crystals. She carried a crescent bouquet of red and white roses.
Blaine Franz, nephew of the bride, carried the rings on a white satin pillow. Cindy Propinski, a cousin of the groom, served as flower girl and was dressed as a miniature bride in a replica of the bride’s gown.
After July 15, Mr. and Mrs. Sinette will reside in Ft. Eustis, Va., where the groom is stationed with the army.
