Jolivette, Delton (15 NOV 1933-11 JAN 2012)

Delton E. Jolivette, 78, Marshfield, formerly of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at the Marshfield Care Center with his family by his side. A memorial service was held at noon, on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Zion United Methodist Church, Marshfield. Rev. Michael Carlson officiated.

Delton Elias Jolivette was born on Nov. 15, 1933, in Greenwood, to Gerald "Jeb" and Ella (nee Johnson)Jolivette. He was the only child of loving parents. He was very close to his cousins, aunts and uncles and family reunions were an important part of his life. He attended Christopherson Grade School and graduated from Greenwood High School. He was a fun-loving friend to everyone he knew. In 1959, he married Joyce Diedrich and her children, Charlie, Cindy and Becky. Joyce and Delton were blessed with two more children, Annie and Jamie. When they divorced, Delton was determined to keep the family together and every weekend and holiday he drove to different communities to unite the children. In 1981, he attended a family wedding where he was reunited with the love of his life, the former Wilma Prior. On March 6, 1982, he married Wilma and brought two more daughters into the fold—Spring and Vicki. Throughout his life, Delton was a hard worker. He spent summers as a young man working in the Dakotas on farms and grain fields. He worked at Colby Box Factory, Rollohome in Spencer, and retired from Land O Lakes in 1995 after many years of service. After he retired, he loved to travel to travel to historical sites with his beloved, finished enumerable "Honey-dos for his daughters, spent time enjoying his grandchildren, snowmobiled, and hunted. In June 2008, Delton and Wilma moved from Greenwood to Marshfield to be closer to their daughters. On Oct. 31, 2011, he suffered a massive stroke. At that time, the family was over whelmed by the outpouring of love, cards, visits and other touch points from those who knew Del. This was a great tribute to his loving nature. He expressed his sense of humor, his manners, and his love for family until the end. The family is so thankful for the care he received at Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Marshfield Care Center.

Survivors include his dear Wilma; his children, Charles Diedrich, Cindy (Bob Fink) McFarlane, Spring (Nick Poeschel) Fleming, Becky Diedrich, Annie (Mark) Eckes, Jamie (Becky Fitzl) Jolivette and Vickie (David) Foemmel; 13 grandchildren, Jenny, Rick, Andrea, Jeff "Jack", Sylvia, Kaila, Karly, Allie, Dylan, Brenda, John, Zach, "Jack", and Kim; eight great grandchildren, Austen, Nathan, Avery, Braedyn, Mckynlie, Bobbie, Aaron, and Sofia; his favorite aunt, Amber Johnson, and an "honorary" granddaughter, Lindsey Strey.
